Title: Stochastic Successive Convex Approximation and its Applications to Wireless Communications and Sparse Signal Processing

  

Abstract: Stochastic optimizations play a critical role in various key application areas such as wireless resource optimizations, sparse signal recovery, machine learning, etc.

However, there still lacks an efficient algorithm to solve non-convex stochastic optimization problems that occur in many applications. In this talk, we propose a stochastic successive convex approximation (SSCA) algorithm framework to find a stationary point for a general non-convex stochastic optimization problem, whose objective and constraint functions are non-convex and involve expectations over random states. The algorithm is based on solving a sequence of convex objective/feasibility optimization problems obtained by replacing the objective/constraint functions in the original problems with some convex surrogate functions. We apply the SSCA algorithm to solve several important application problems in wireless communications and sparse signal processing, including two-timescale hybrid precoder (THP) optimization in massive MIMO systems, and sparse signal recovery with uncertain parameters in the measurement matrix.

  

Biography:

刘安,男,第十四批国家青年千人计划入选者,现为浙江大学百人计划研究员,博士生导师。分别于2004年、2011年在北京大学电子学系获得理学学士、工学博士学位。2008年到2010年曾赴美国科罗拉多大学博尔德分校访学。博士毕业后,先后在香港科技大学担任博士后、访问助理教授、研究助理教授。2018年加入浙江大学。主要研究方向是基于随机优化的通信信号处理。近年来,在基于随机优化的5G通信系统物理层传输技术、面向内容中心网络的缓存技术及稀疏通信信号处理技术等方面取得了若干原创性科研成果。目前在信号处理和通信领域发表SCI收录的IEEE顶级期刊论文39篇(第一作者论文共24篇),EI收录的IEEE国际会议论文40余篇,主要发表期刊包括IEEE Transactions on Signal ProcessingIEEE Transactions on Wireless CommunicationsIEEE Transactions on Information Theory等权威国际期刊。目前为IEEE高级会员,IEEE Wireless Communications Letters编委。曾多次担任IEEE信息与通信领域主流国际会议的技术委员会委员。
